About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate to Senior Accountant and Tax Accountant to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated public practice professional to work across a diverse portfolio of clients, take genuine ownership of client relationships, and fast-track their technical development and professional qualification.

You will be responsible for preparing financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships, while receiving hands-on mentoring from experienced Directors and Senior Accountants.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (BAS), IAS, and FBT returns
Manage a portfolio of clients, building and maintaining strong client relationships
Liaise directly with clients to gather information, resolve queries, and provide sound accounting and tax advice
Assist with tax planning and advisory work for small to medium-sized business clients
Support the preparation of trust distribution resolutions and trust compliance obligations
Work with cloud-based accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks)
Mentor and support graduate and junior accountants as your experience develops

About You

Minimum 2–3 years' recent experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm
Already commenced (or committed to commencing) your CA or CPA qualification
Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts
Sound working knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance obligations
Proficiency in cloud accounting software Xero
Strong communication skills, with the confidence to liaise directly with clients
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving ability
A proactive, team-oriented approach and genuine desire to grow professionally
