Intrax, we’re looking for a motivated Survey Assistant or early-career Surveyor ready to grow their skills within our Housing Division in Queensland. If you’re eager to step up, take on more responsibility and build your career in residential surveying, we’ll provide the training, support and mentoring to help you succeed.
As a Surveyor within Intrax’s Housing Division, you will play a key role in delivering surveying services across housing and residential projects. You’ll be responsible for field surveying and housing set out tasks, while supporting the smooth delivery of projects through accurate data collection, strong communication and practical problem-solving.
This role offers the opportunity to bridge hands-on field work with project coordination and client interaction, developing your technical and professional capability in a supportive environment.

Accurate housing surveys and set outs underpin successful residential developments. Your work will directly support planning, design and construction outcomes across QLD housing projects, ensuring reliable data, compliance with standards and high-quality project delivery.
What You’ll Do
- Execute assigned surveying tasks with discipline and initiative, delivering high‑quality work in accordance with Australian Standards
- Conduct a range of surveys including feature surveys, set outs and other housing‑related surveys
- Process field data and perform accurate calculations for coordinates, elevations and alignments
- Support project delivery by managing your workload, adapting to shifting priorities and meeting agreed timelines
- Liaise directly with developers and civil contractors and internal teams to clarify requirements and provide practical surveying support
- Contribute to survey documentation and assist with compliance with local and state regulations
- Identify and resolve routine surveying issues, escalating more complex matters as required
- Participate in continuous improvement of surveying processes and practices within the Housing Division
What You Bring
- Ideally 2+ years of relevant surveying experience
- Experience or exposure to feature surveying and residential projects
- Solid understanding of field survey techniques and data processing
- Experience using survey equipment and survey software
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and professional standards
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and team members
- Willingness to learn housing‑specific surveying practices and regulatory requirements
