This position would suit a skilled clinician with recent acute hospital experience who is committed to ongoing professional development and is either undertaking or has completed a postgraduate qualification.
This position will required travel throughout the District as per business needs.

SESLHD is one of the largest local health districts in Sydney, covering a geographical area of 468 square kilometres from Sydney’s central business district, the beaches from Bondi to Cronulla and down to the Royal National Park. We deliver health care to around 930,000 residents across the local government areas of Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick, Bayside, Georges River and the Sutherland Shire. We also provide a key role in helping residents of Lord Howe Island. Our staff also deliver high quality health care across a variety of community-based services ranging from pre-birth to palliative care.
The Role
The Nursing and Midwifery – Our Strategy for Transforming Person Centred Cultures 2024-2029 guides our profession in the development of effective person-centred practice and healthful cultures within SESLHD. The Internal Clinical Facilitator - Clinical Nurse/Midwife Educator, is responsible for the facilitation of undergraduate nursing/midwifery students during clinical placements in SESLHD in collaboration with the SESLHD partnered education providers and all internal stakeholders. During facilitation, undergraduate nursing/midwifery students are supported to consolidate their skills and knowledge in order to facilitate the integration of theory into practice within the clinical setting. The Internal Clinical Facilitator will also enable nursing/midwifery students to meet their professional and clinical requirements to gain competency skills and to comply with SESLHD and NSW Health CORE values.
As an Internal Clinical Facilitator in SESLHD you will be recognised as a healthcare professional employing your clinical skills and critical thinking in delivering high quality patient care. You will exercise extended autonomy of decision making and professional knowledge and judgement in providing complex care requiring advanced clinical skills.

Selection Criteria
- Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife and current NSW Driver’s License and willingness to travel as required in role.
- Holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate.
- Experience in clinical teaching, supervision and assessment of students or staff and an awareness and understanding of nursing student curriculum.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written, verbal communication and advocacy skills including the ability to maintain strong, effective relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated clinical teaching and facilitation skills including advanced computer skills and use of software programs to develop and deliver education and record keeping.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality written documents including educational resources, evaluation reports and other documents.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development in others and to maintain, improve and broaden knowledge, expertise, capability and confidence across a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated adaptability both in the clinical environment and with regard to educational and organisational needs.
