The Team
We are proud to have a strong Class Actions presence nationally, working to secure justice for our clients in some of the nation's most prominent Class Actions including the PFAS contamination class actions. The team is led by an experienced and highly regarded Head of Class Actions and assisted by a dedicated team of Practice Leaders, Special Counsels, Senior Associates and other legal professionals.
The Opportunity
Due to a promotion, we are seeking an experienced legal Administration Assistant / Paralegal on a full-time basis, on-site from our Melbourne CBD-based office.
In this role, you will support our Legal team on a range of active matters and investigations, including claims related to pharmaceuticals, medical devices, pesticides and environmental contamination, as part of Australia's leading plaintiff firm in this space. With empathy, adaptability and initiative, you will be:
- Acting as the first point of contact for administrative enquiries from our Melbourne CBD-based Class Actions team.
- Supporting the Legal team with admin tasks and helping them use internal systems more efficiently, including assisting with data cleanses for class actions.
- Undertaking expense management including credit card reconciliation and invoice payments.
- Organising functions/training sessions and other work-related events, including arrangements for travel and accommodation for attendees as required.
- Handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Assisting with client management, including complaint process resolution.
- Assisting in ad hoc attendances to Court during trial periods to support our Class Actions team.
- Proactively providing chargeable and non-chargeable support to our Legal team with general administrative duties, in order to obtain maximum compensation for clients, from file opening to closure.
While we are prioritising applicants seeking full-time employment, we are open to considering flexible working arrangements for applicants seeking a minimum of four days per week for the right candidate.
What you’ll bring
- Experience in a similar administrative operations role is essential.
- Experience in similar professional services organisations (e.g. legal, accounting, etc.) essential.
- Accurate typing skills with intermediate Word & Excel skills.
- A keen eye for detail in your document management and collation skills.
- You’ll be a great communicator both verbally and in writing.
- The availability to work on-site from our Melbourne CBD office Monday - Friday, 8:15am - 5:00pm.
