Baker – Full Time

Sam's East St Bakehouse
Location: Hadfield, VIC 3046
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum + Superannuation
Work Schedule: Rotating roster including overnight, weekend and public holiday shifts

About Us

Sam's East St Bakehouse is a busy 24/7 bakery located in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, specialising in fresh breads, pastries, Turkish-style baked goods, and desserts. Due to continued business growth and high customer demand across both walk-in and online delivery platforms, we are seeking an experienced Baker to join our production team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, doughs and baked products
Mixing, kneading, shaping and proofing doughs according to recipes and production schedules
Monitoring oven temperatures and baking processes to maintain product consistency and quality
Preparing fillings, toppings and bakery ingredients
Coordinating the loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of bread, rolls and pastry products.
Maintaining food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards in accordance with workplace procedures
Assisting with stock rotation and ingredient preparation
Working collaboratively within a fast-paced commercial bakery environment
Undertaking overnight and early morning production shifts as required

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

Relevant qualification in Baking or related field and/or relevant industry experience in a commercial bakery environment
Experience working in a commercial bakery environment
Knowledge of dough preparation, fermentation and baking processes
Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment
Strong attention to detail and food quality standards
Flexibility to work rotating rosters including overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays
Good communication and teamwork skills
