The Maternal &Child Health (MCH) Group Facilitator is responsible for engaging with families with young children in MCH New Parent Group sessions, early parenting programs and events.

The position will work with a diverse range of community members and stakeholders and will be responsible for delivering responsive and culturally appropriate information, provide current evidenced based resources to support families and promote child development and wellbeing. The role will include liaison, development, collaboration and partnership opportunities across the MCH service.

About the role:
This role will also be responsible for the direct service delivery of MCH new parent group sessions, INFANT program and other Early Parenting sessions as directed by the MCH Leader.
The MCH Group Facilitator may also be required to participate in the planning, preparation, delivery and/or evaluation of MCH New parent Group sessions and program activities associated with supporting early years parenting as directed by the MCH Leader.

You will:

Engage with Darebin families with children aged 0-12 months providing education and support to parents and care givers
Facilitate & co-facilitate groups such as New Parent Groups or Parent information sessions to provide support to mothers experiencing postnatal mental health issues, or new parenting challenges.
Promote access and inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse families, all abilities, LGBTQI+ families and gender equitable approaches to the delivery of MCH New Parent Groups and early parenting programs

About you:
The skills, experience and values we are looking for are;

A tertiary qualification in Early Childhood education, Parent Educator, Community development, Family dynamics (or related discipline) and/or relevant experience in facilitating community groups in the Early Years sector
A current employee Working with Children Card.
A current Victorian Driver’s Licence, access to own vehicle and comprehensive car insurance.
First aid certificate is an advantage
