The corporate services portfolio supports and enables the delivery of policing services through its People, Digital and Infrastructure, Financial, Legal and Corporate Strategy and Planning services. The portfolio supports operational policing through the delivery of essential corporate services and leads continuous improvements and oversight of enabling and corporate functions. Four executive advisor positions are vacant each supporting a Director leading the following teams within the Corporate Services portfolio:

Governance provides expertise on corporate governance improvement, corporate secretariat services to Tier 1 Committees, manages Freedom of information (FOI) obligations, oversees statutory, performance and compliance reporting and manages the organizational risk and assurance function including internal audit.

Logistics Operations, Equipment, Fleet and Facilities provides a range of support services that are essential to operational policing including storage of impounded vehicles, uniform and equipment supply chains, incident support, management of seized property, fleet vehicles, and police facilities.

Strategic Finance shapes and plans for long term financial direction of Victoria Police by ensuring the financial strategy is aligned with organisational priorities, multi-year financial planning, sustainability and engaging with key government stakeholders.

Operational Finance is responsible for day to day financial operations that support Victoria Police to keep the community safe, including accurate and timely transactions, managing payroll for around 22,000 staff and overseeing procurement of goods and services.
The Executive Advisor provides high-level, trusted advice and support to senior leaders within Victoria Police. Working closely with the Director and leadership team, the role supports strategic priorities, manages complex and sensitive matters, and contributes to informed decision making,

Your duties will include:
- Coordinate workflow of the Director's office to determine priorities and ensure high quality products and services are delivered in a timely manner

Provide considered and high-level advice and support to the Director on complex and sensitive matters

Provide high quality briefings, reports, correspondence and presentations, often to short timeframes
-
Build and maintain effective working relationships with senior stakeholders across Victoria Police and external organisations.

Monitoring emerging issues, risk and opportunities, and escalating matter where appropriate.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
-
A sound understanding of public administration and corporate processes preferably including either financial, governance, or facilities, equipment logistics and fleet and related practices is highly desirable.
-
Demonstrated experience providing high-level written and verbal advice to senior leaders in a complex environment.
-
Sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
-
Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate, influence and achieve positive outcomes, and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders with diverse and sometimes competing interests.

Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure in a sensitive and dynamic environment and culture that values feedback, continuous improvement and shared accountability.

Advanced conceptual and analytical skills, including an ability to structure and analyse problems, develop innovative solutions, and clearly communicates advice to decision-makers. This include excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop reports, briefings and submissions that are concise and engaging.

Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and adapt to changing demands.

A relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable.

This positions are located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
