Exciting outdoor Ranger role with real impact on Victoria’s parks!

The Ranger role is highly diverse with a strong focus on outdoor delivery
Parks Victoria is a Statewide Organisation managing nearly 20% of the state's terrestrial land
The Ranger role allows opportunity for exposure to all elements of land management

About the role

The Ranger role focus is on ground delivery, monitoring and reporting of environmental works and asset maintenance. Rangers work in teams but also autonomously on specific project delivery. The Reserves within Keilor Plains management area include Metropolitan Parks, National Parks and Nature Conservation Reserves providing excellent exposure in varying land reservation purpose, priorities and management strategies. The Ranger role is public facing and involves regular community engagement and education, both structured and unstructured.

About Parks Victoria OR About the Team

Parks Victoria is a statutory authority of the Victorian Government acting in accordance with the Parks Victoria Act 2018.

Parks Victoria is responsible for managing a diverse estate of more than 4 million hectares including 3,000 land and marine parks and reserves making up 18 per cent of Victoria's landmass, 75 per cent of Victoria's wetlands and 70 per cent of Victoria's coastline. Victoria's parks are home to more than 4,300 native plants and around 1,000 native animal species.

Parks Victoria's estate attracts more than 100 million visits every year and we are committed to providing accessible, enjoyable, diverse programs and destinations while protecting and enhancing environmental and cultural values.

We're looking for someone with:

Relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience in on ground delivery and management of minor projects
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Proven capacity to utilise professional skills to resolve operational issues
Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication
