The opportunity

In Australia, we are growing!! We are now on track to further grow and strengthen our Buildings Team, as we accelerate our push into the Australian Buildings market. We are seeking a passionate and outgoing Senior/Intermediate Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in Melbourne.

You day to day will involve working on multi-disciplinary building services projects from inception, through strategic planning and concept to detailed design planning and resourcing effectively to meet budgets and targets. You will deliver projects through effective management of complex technical solutions by assigning work, directing project outcomes and verifying work of other technical staff.

Building strong client relationships will be second nature and understanding needs and provision of appropriate technical solutions will lead to continuing work and repeat business.

About you

Your technical skills are based on solid fundamentals and have been proven through the delivery of robust and innovative building engineering solutions. You are experienced in leading mid to large size fire protection projects, confident, passionate, and motivated engineer looking to further your career in an employee-owned consultancy.

Having tertiary qualifications in Civil/Mechanical Engineering you’ll have a strong grounding based in the consulting area. Being a Registered Building Practitioner, you’ll demonstrate:

Solid understanding of NCC, relevant Australian standards and good knowledge of FM Global and NFPA.
Strong technical experience in fire protection design systems including but not limited to sprinkler protection, deluge system fire hydrant and hose reel, detection and alarm etc
Critical analysis of design options for different building types as well as a keen eye for details
Demonstrated effective verbal, and written communication skills
Experience using AutoCAD / Revit would be considered desirable but not essential
