About the Role

The Centre for Education is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Nursing Education team as a Clinical Nurse Educator.

In this role, you will provide clinical education, facilitation, supervision, coaching to nursing staff, transition-to-practice nurses, postgraduate nurses and undergraduate nursing students across Western Health.

You will play an important role in developing a skilled and confident nursing workforce by delivering evidence-based education, supporting professional development and promoting excellence in clinical practice and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will:

Facilitate evidence-based education programs, study days, orientation and clinical learning opportunities for nursing staff.
Provide clinical supervision, coaching, mentoring and support to nursing staff and learners.
Promote clinical reasoning, critical thinking and evidence-based practice to support safe, high-quality patient care.
Support graduate nurses, undergraduate nursing students and nurses participating in transition-to-practice programs.
Collaborate with Nurse Unit Managers, educators and multidisciplinary teams to identify learning needs and strengthen clinical capability.
Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of education programs, clinical resources and relevant policies and procedures.
Monitor learner progress and provide timely, constructive feedback to support professional development.
Participate in recruitment, interviews and the promotion of nursing education programs as required.
Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages professional growth, teamwork and excellence in clinical practice.

About You

You are an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for clinical education, mentoring and supporting the professional development of others. You are an effective communicator who can work collaboratively while also demonstrating initiative and autonomy.

You will have:

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
A minimum of five years' post-registration experience in an acute healthcare setting.
Recent experience in nursing education, clinical facilitation and/or the delivery of education and training.
Strong clinical knowledge and an understanding of contemporary evidence-based nursing practice.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Strong coaching, mentoring and conflict-resolution skills.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and clinical information systems.
A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, professional development and innovation in nursing education.

Desirable
Postgraduate qualification, or currently working towards a Master's qualification, with an education focus.
Previous experience in a clinical leadership or nursing education role.
