About the Opportunity:
Mastermyne is seeking a highly capable HSEQ leader to drive health, safety, environment and training performance across our Southern New South Wales operations. Supporting a growing workforce of 200+ employees across multiple sites, you will play a critical role partnering with project teams to embed strong safety culture, improve systems, and deliver measurable outcomes.
This is a hands-on, operational leadership role where your ability to influence, challenge and support will directly impact business and HSEQ performance and the well-being of our people.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Lead and drive HSE, quality and training initiatives across Southern NSW operations;
- Ensure compliance with Legislation, Industry, client and company requirements.
- Provide leadership and guidance to site management teams and underground workers;
- Coordinate and deliver internal and external audit programs in line with HSEQ schedules;
- Support investigations into serious incidents and present findings to senior leadership;
- Deliver engaging health and safety training aligned to operational needs;
- Identify, assess and manage HSEQ risks across multiple projects;
- Contribute to continuous improvement by implementing practical and effective safety solutions;
- Proven ability to influence outcomes and deliver timely results across varied situations;Injury management and return-to-work experience partnering with HSEQ Manager.
About You:
- Strong underground coal mining safety/operational background;
- Demonstrated experience in a safety leadership position within a coal mining business, at a project, regional or business unit level;
- Ability to influence, challenge and build trust with leaders and frontline teams;
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across all levels;
- Demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes in high-pressure, fast-paced environments;
- High level of professionalism, integrity, discretion and maturity;
- Experienced in delivering HSEQ training as a subject matter expert;
- Strong hazard identification and risk management capability;
- Experience and influencing skills to be able to navigate a path so that outcomes are achieved in a timely manner for the various situations.
