What does the job look like?
Linfox's Intermodal business unit have an opportunity for a Transport Allocator to join our Laverton North team, to support our sub-contractor network. This is a fast-paced operational role responsible for coordinating daily transport activities, ensuring freight is accurately allocated to subcontractors and drivers while meeting customer, safety and compliance requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining service delivery performance through proactive planning, real-time decision making and strong stakeholder engagement. This is a full-time permanent opportunity working Monday - Friday either from 7am - 3pm or 8am - 4pm. Key areas:
Coordinate daily freight allocation to subcontractors and drivers in line with customer requirements and operational plans
Manage bookings, timeslots and allocation boards to ensure alignment with load sheets and transport schedules
Monitor service delivery and resolve issues including subcontractor changes, customer escalations and day-to-day disruptions
Communicate with drivers, planners and stakeholders to confirm capacity and align next-day requirements
Maintain accurate system data and support KPI tracking, reporting and load visibility
Promote safety compliance through monitoring activities such as coupling checks, fatigue compliance and yard observations
Are you the one?
You are an experienced transport or logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset. You enjoy building relationships and bring a genuine willingness to learn and continuously improve.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a transport or logistics operational environment
Exposure to working with subcontractors and coordinating fleet and freight allocation
Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including our sub-contractor network and internal teams
Ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively under pressure
Confidence using transport systems to manage bookings, allocation data and workflows
Strong safety focus with experience supporting compliance and KPI monitoring
