Operating more than 50 vessels across the Riverside Industrial Sands, Rivtow Marine, Magnetic Island Ferries and Riverside Oceanic businesses, our dedicated and experienced teams are leading our business forward into the future with an unwavering commitment to quality and safety.

We are seeking a motivated Graduate Marine Engineer to join our Brisbane-based team and commence their engineering career within a diverse and growing marine organisation.

Working closely with our Head of Engineering and Technical Team, this role will provide exposure to a broad range of engineering, maintenance and compliance activities across our fleet and marine operations. You will gain hands-on experience supporting vessel maintenance programs, technical projects, regulatory compliance and operational initiatives while learning from experienced industry professionals.

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate who is looking to develop their technical capabilities, build industry knowledge and establish a long-term career within the marine sector.

Position Details

Brisbane based position (Newstead office. with relocation to Murarrie office mid 2027)
Permanent, full-time role
Opportunity for travel to operational sites and vessels across Australia
On-site parking
Career development and mentoring from experienced engineering professionals

Key responsibilities

Assisting with the planning and scheduling of vessel maintenance and major works
Supporting technical projects, dockings and engineering initiatives across the business
Assisting with compliance activities relating to ISM, ISO, AMSA and Class requirements
Participating in technical audits and maintenance system activities
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering projects
Supporting the delivery of safe and efficient vessel operations across multiple business units
Assisting with reporting and technical documentation requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

A recently completed degree in Marine Engineering or a related engineering discipline
A genuine interest in the marine industry and vessel operations
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational and time management abilities
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Flexibility to travel when required
