Full Job Description

Position Title: Mandalong Poultry Farm Worker

Reporting To: Mandalong Poultry Farm Leading Hand (Growing)

Position Overview:

To closely support the Mandalong Livestock Team on a day to day basis; to assist in achieving full compliance within the following areas;

Work Health and Safety
Animal welfare
Biosecurity
NSW Food Authority

Technical Skills:

A sound knowledge of (Work Health and Safety) practices
A sound knowledge of animal welfare and biosecurity practice
A sound knowledge of poultry production from breeders through to Hatchery operation
Strong analytical, problem solving, trouble shooting and process improvement skills

Primary Role Objectives:

1. To complete General farm hand duties including;

Setting up of sheds to take day old chicks
Unloading day old chicks
Undertaking mortality run / removal
Changing the temperature/ humidity/ air quality/ventilation parameters as per required or directed
General paper work (daily check sheets)
Driving and operating farm equipment
Cleaning, washing and disinfecting sheds and equipment

2. To help maintain the grounds and farm surrounds

3. To work within a roster covering afterhours duties (when required), including weekends and public holidays

4. To complete any other duties as requested by the Farm Manager or Leading Hand

Technical Skills:

A sound knowledge of (Work Health and Safety) practices
A sound knowledge of animal welfare and biosecurity practice
A sound knowledge of poultry production from breeders through to Hatchery operation
Strong analytical, problem solving, trouble shooting and process improvement skills
