About the role
Fostering Independence Pty Ltd is expanding into Support at Home, and we're looking for compassionate, reliable Community Support Workers to join our growing team. This is a casual position offering flexible hours and the opportunity to make a genuine difference in people's lives.
Key responsibilities
- Person-Centred Care, Dignity & Choice
- Provide Personal Care: Deliver high-quality personal care to meet residents’ physical, emotional, and environmental needs.
- Uphold Strict Privacy: Protect consumer dignity by always maintaining strict privacy and confidentiality standards.
- Build Positive Relationships: Foster open, respectful relationships with clients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Accountability, Feedback & Leadership
- Report Incidents Promptly: Document and report workplace incidents immediately in line with organizational requirements.
- Drive Quality Care: Contribute actively to continuous improvement initiatives to elevate quality care outcomes.
- Lead Shifts Confidently: Act as the senior staff member on shift when required, including directing emergency responses.
- Guide & Support Teams: Provide supervision, induction, and daily guidance to staff, volunteers, agency workers, and students.
- Professional Development: Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge through scheduled ongoing professional development activities.
Care Planning & Clinical Monitoring
- Follow Care Plans: Deliver clinical care strictly in line with individualised care plans and ANMC standards.
- Communicate Clinical Updates: Share clinical status changes clearly and confidentially with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Escalate Care Concerns: Follow directions from Registered Nurses and escalate clinical deterioration or concerns appropriately.
Environment & Safety
- Maintain Safety Compliance: Follow all Quality Management and Work Health & Safety policies to protect consumers.
- Manage Workplace Hazards: Identify and report physical workplace hazards immediately to maintain safe care environments.
Clinical Care & Scope of Practice
- Safe Medication Administration: Administer and monitor medications safely in strict accordance with your defined scope of practice.
- Maintain Accurate Documentation: Complete timely, compliant, and highly accurate electronic clinical documentation each shift.
- Observe Role Boundaries: Practice strictly within EN boundaries, ensuring personal accountability and policy adherence.
- Flexible Role Execution: Undertake additional tasks and duties as required within the approved scope of the role.
What we're looking for
- Experience working in community services, aged care, disability support or a related field is highly desirable
- Current or willingness to obtain a relevant First Aid qualification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse client groups
- Demonstrated commitment to person-centred, respectful and dignified support practices
- Reliability, punctuality and the ability to manage time effectively across a flexible casual schedule
- Physical capacity to assist clients with mobility and personal care tasks
- A valid Australian driving licence and access to reliable transport
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one
- Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one
- NDIS Screening Check
