Ground Force International (GFI) is a wholesale business dedicated to innovation and operational excellence in the outdoor and sporting goods sector. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a qualified and experienced Technical Sales Representative to join our team.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for a driven all-rounder who enjoys building genuine relationships with clients, understanding their operational needs, and matching them with the right product and service solutions. Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Market Awareness
- Prospecting: Develop and maintain a database of prospective client businesses through industry directories, online platforms, referrals, and other business development resources
- Market Intelligence: Keep up to date with GFI’s products and services, competitor offerings, industry developments, and current market trends to support effective sales strategies
- Reporting: Monitor changes in customer demands, market conditions, and competitor activities, and provide timely feedback and reports to sales management
2. Client Relationships & Sales
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients through regular visits, identifying opportunities, and promoting products and services
- Solution Selling: Assess customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and service solutions tailored to their operational and business needs
- Closing the Sale: Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing and credit arrangements, finalise sales agreements, process orders, and ensure accurate documentation of transactions
3. Delivery, Service & After-Sales
- Coordination: Coordinate the delivery of products, installation of equipment, and scheduling of related support services to ensure efficient and timely completion
- After-Sales Care: Conduct after-sales follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction, maintain ongoing business relationships, and resolve any concerns or service-related issues
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, contracts, and business-related expenses in accordance with company procedures
- Performance Reporting: Prepare and submit sales performance reports, including market feedback and insights into the demand and marketability of products and services
Candidate Profile
- Proven Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in technical sales, wholesale, or distribution
- Qualified: A qualification equivalent to an Australian Bachelor Degree or higher
- Valid Firearms Licence: required for role and demonstrations
- Firearms industry experience: Strong industry knowledge and relationships
- Technically Capable: Proven ability to understand product specifications and translate them into practical solutions for customers
- Strong Communicator: Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Self-Driven: Comfortable working autonomously on the road, managing your own schedule, territory, and pipeline
- Mobile: A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to clients as required
Highly Regarded (but not essential)
- Experience in the outdoor, sporting goods, or wholesale sector
- Familiarity with CRM systems and inventory/ordering software
- An established network of industry contacts
