Payroll and Accounts Officer (Toowong)

0.8FTE Part-time opportunity within our Finance & Shared Services team

BUSHkids is a not-for-profit organisation that has been at the heart of transforming lives of regional children across Queensland for 90 years. Our highly dedicated teams and volunteers are all driven by a shared vision that all children should have access to free allied health services regardless of where they live.

As a Payroll and Accounts Officer at BUSHkids, you will play a key role within the finance team, supporting the organisation’s financial operations through the accurate and timely processing of fortnightly payroll, accounts payable and receivable, staff expense claims, credit card reconciliations, and payment runs. The role also ensures compliance with relevant legislation, awards, policies, and procedures while contributing to the smooth delivery of finance administration and shared services support across the organisation.

If you are seeking a finance role with purpose, this is an opportunity to directly support the delivery of Early Intervention and Allied Health services across regional Queensland. By supporting our front-line teams and clinicians who work with vulnerable children and families, your contribution will help enable meaningful outcomes and make a lasting difference in the communities we serve.

About You

Previous experience in payroll processing is essential, with additional experience across AR/AP functions highly desirable.
Flexible and adaptable nature who can work independently and have a team-oriented mindset.
Able to manage competing priorities effectively with a deadline driven approach.
High attention to detail, accuracy and sound judgement in decision making.
Intermediate Excel skills and MS-Office. Prior Employment Hero experience would be highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Highly professional approach, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Proactive team player with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement
Alignment with BUSHkids core values – Child-Focused and Family Centred, Collaborative and Accountable
Valid Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or ability to obtain before commencement)
Current C Class Drivers’ Licence
Evidence of Hepatitis B vaccination status
