Head Chef – Fishermens Wharf Cafe

We’re on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen at our busy waterfront café in Huskisson. Located in the heart of Jervis Bay, Fishermens Wharf Cafe is known for its fresh, coastal-inspired menu and relaxed dining atmosphere.

About the Role

As Head Chef, you’ll take full ownership of the kitchen, leading the team, driving menu development, and ensuring consistent, high-quality food service. This is a hands on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, train, and inspire the kitchen team
Design and update seasonal menus with a focus on fresh, local produce
Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency
Maintain high standards of food safety and kitchen cleanliness
Manage rostering and kitchen operations efficiently

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef
Strong leadership and team management skills
Creativity and passion for modern café-style cuisine
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Solid understanding of food safety standards and cost control
Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery (Cert III or higher preferred)
