#Role

Hutchies is looking for a motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our Hobart team on a full time, permanent basis. With a solid pipeline of upcoming work, we’re now seeking an experienced commercial construction Project Manager to help support and drive the growth of our Hobart operations.

#Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Collaborate with Engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project
Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
Hire Contractors and other company members and allocate responsibilities for the project
Supervise the work of labourers, mechanics, etc. and give them guidance when needed
Evaluate progress and prepared detailed reports
Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
Manage all aspects of project risk and opportunity
Manage all financial aspects of the project including the preparation of monthly financial reports
Ensure compliance of the project to the requirements of the contract, legislation, stakeholders and authoritie

#Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Relevant tertiary qualifications
Demonstrated experience in a similar role in the construction industry
An understanding of legislation applying to commercial construction in the state of Tasmania
Strong knowledge of construction specific legislation and Codes of Practice
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently
Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
A down to earth, fun, friendly and professional approach to your work
