Chef - All level

We are Kuro Beko, a modern Japanese dining restaurant located in the heart of Toowoomba. We’re looking for a passionate and energetic team member to work with our team and provide exceptional experience to our guests.

What we’re looking for:

CHEF

Responsibilities

Prepare and execute dishes across all sections of the kitchen
Assist in the development and refinement of menus and specials
Maintain consistent quality, plating standards, and portioning
Manage mise en place and prep for service
Uphold food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times
Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team during service

What You Bring

Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience)
Passion for Japanese cuisine and modern dining concepts
Experience in a professional kitchen environment
Ability to work efficiently under pressure
Reliable, punctual, and a genuine team player
Current Food Handler's Certificate

KITCHEN STAFF

Responsibilities

Support chefs with food preparation, cutting, and portioning
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and utensils
Operate the dishwasher and manage dish/glassware throughput
Assist with deliveries, storage, and stock rotation
Contribute to end-of-shift cleaning procedures
Follow all food safety and WHS guidelines

What You Bring

Reliability and a strong work ethic
Ability to work at a fast pace in a team environment
Willingness to learn and take direction
Physical stamina and attention to detail
Food handler's certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
Previous kitchen experience is a bonus — not required

Requirements

Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $26.00 – $35.00 per hour
