About the Division and Branch
The People & Workplace Relations (Schools) Division implements strategic workforce initiatives, provides human resource services and strategic human resource policy advice in areas of school employee relations, payroll, recruitment and provision of HR data to assist in the building of a high-quality and diverse workforce. Recruitment, payroll and reporting support is also provided to external clients.
The Schools Workforce Initiatives and Support Branch is responsible for implementing and delivering a range of workforce recruitment initiatives to increase teacher and education support supply in Victoria government schools.

You will have sound leadership, project management and policy development skills, including the ability to find innovative solutions to address strategic issues relevant to the Schools Workforce Initiatives and Support project portfolio.
The role will manage the development and implementation of recruitment projects, resource allocations, budget, programming, complex procurement, risks, project milestones and deliverables, project governance and reporting associated with major projects. This position will also lead sensitive community and stakeholder engagement.

We are looking for someone to join our team who can:

Manage and lead a team of senior project officers and HR business partners/project officers, including workload allocation and supervision of staff as required and contribute to the improvement of staff effectiveness.

Manage the development and implementation of workforce support projects demonstrating effective project management and ensuring that business objectives and targets are met.

Undertake complex procurement processes and manage contracts.

Manage resource allocations, budget, programming, complex procurement, contract management, risks, project milestones and deliverables, project governance and reporting associated with major planning projects.

Lead complex and sensitive community and stakeholder engagement including the development and delivery of strategies outlined in action plans.

Regular consultation with senior leadership and provision of high-quality reports, briefs, business cases, on key projects and program issues.

Undertake other duties as required, including working flexibly on emerging priorities across the broader Department.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary qualifications are desired, as is experience in project management or as a human resources business partner.
