Full Job Description

Bains Trading Pty Ltd T/A Monty's Diner Gundagai is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our dedicated kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment in the heart of Gundagai.

Key Responsibilities:

Discussing food preparation issues with kitchen and floor staff
Preparing and cooking food
Selection and training of new staff
Rostering of the kitchen staff
Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
Demonstrating techniques and advising cooking procedures to the kitchen staff
Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
Ensure that food/ perishable items are stored in a safe and hygienic manner in accordance with the food safety standards

Skills & Experience Required:

Minimum 1 year of relevant full-time experience as a Chef
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (preferred)
Proven ability to work effectively under pressure
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Commitment to food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction
Flexible to work required shifts including weekends, nights and public holidays
