Bains Trading Pty Ltd T/A Monty's Diner Gundagai is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our dedicated kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment in the heart of Gundagai.
Key Responsibilities:
- Discussing food preparation issues with kitchen and floor staff
- Preparing and cooking food
- Selection and training of new staff
- Rostering of the kitchen staff
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Demonstrating techniques and advising cooking procedures to the kitchen staff
- Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
- Ensure that food/ perishable items are stored in a safe and hygienic manner in accordance with the food safety standards
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum 1 year of relevant full-time experience as a Chef
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (preferred)
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Commitment to food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction
- Flexible to work required shifts including weekends, nights and public holidays
