Details: The Cultural Facilities Corporation (CFC) is the ACT Government statutory authority responsible for managing, developing and promoting a diverse portfolio of cultural venues and collections, including the Canberra Theatre Centre, Canberra Museum and Gallery, the Nolan Collection, Lanyon Homestead, Mugga Mugga Cottage, Calthorpes’ House and Albert Hall.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director, Governance, Audit and Risk provides strategic leadership of CFC's governance, audit, risk, integrity and compliance functions. The role supports the CEO, Board and Audit and Risk Committee in meeting statutory obligations and ensuring effective governance, accountability and organisational performance across the corporation.

As CFC enters a period of significant growth and transformation, including preparation for the operation of the new Lyric Theatre, this position plays a critical role in strengthening governance frameworks and organisational capability to support a larger and more complex operating environment. Working closely with senior leaders across the organisation, the Director leads the development and implementation of enterprise-wide governance, risk management, audit and assurance frameworks that support informed decision-making, organisational resilience and continuous improvement.

The position has responsibility for Board and committee governance, strategic and operational risk management, internal audit coordination, business continuity planning, fraud and corruption prevention, annual reporting, Freedom of Information coordination, and Ministerial and parliamentary reporting processes. The role also serves as CFC's Senior Executive Responsible for Business Integrity Risk and Child Safety Coordinator, providing executive oversight of integrity, child safety governance, compliance, monitoring and assurance activities.

This senior leadership role requires a highly capable governance professional with strong strategic and operational expertise, excellent judgement, and the ability to provide trusted advice in a complex public sector environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills and a proven ability to build strong governance cultures that support accountability, compliance and organisational performance.
