About the Role
Magical Link Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and motivated Telecommunications Network Planner to join our growing telecommunications infrastructure team based in Parramatta, NSW.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning the development of customer access telecommunications network infrastructure and supporting the delivery of end-to-end communication and networking solutions across metropolitan, coastal, and regional New South Wales.
This role will involve preparing and reviewing survey packs, planning fibre and copper network routes, supporting civil and cable hauling works, liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders, and ensuring telecommunications network infrastructure is planned and documented accurately in accordance with project requirements, technical standards, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan the development of customer access telecommunications network infrastructure for commercial and residential projects
- Prepare, review and validate telecommunications survey packs, network mark-ups, measurements and construction documentation
- Assess proposed network routes and infrastructure requirements from Point of Interconnect to customer premises
- Support planning for fibre, copper, pit and pipe, civil, rod and rope, hauling, splicing, testing and integration works
- Analyse site conditions, existing infrastructure, conduit availability, access routes and project constraints
- Prepare and maintain accurate network plans, design documentation, technical records, equipment details and project files
- Liaise with project managers, field technicians, surveyors, cable haulers, civil teams, clients, suppliers and external contractors
- Provide technical advice and information regarding telecommunications network infrastructure and project requirements
- Monitor project progress and assist with resolving technical issues, defects, access problems and network planning constraints
- Ensure network planning work complies with relevant telecommunications standards, client specifications, safety requirements and company procedures
- Assist with the coordination of materials, equipment, resources and technical documentation required for project delivery
- Support testing, integration and handover processes by ensuring accurate and complete network planning documentation
Essential Requirements
- Relevant qualification in telecommunications, networking, engineering, information technology, or a related field, such as an AQF Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree; or at least three years of relevant industry experience
- Previous experience in telecommunications network planning, telecommunications infrastructure, fibre/copper networks, civil telecommunications works, or a related technical role
- Understanding of customer access telecommunications network infrastructure, including fibre, copper, pit and pipe, conduit routes, civil works, cable hauling and network termination requirements
- Ability to read, interpret and prepare telecommunications plans, survey packs, mark-ups, measurements and technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify network planning issues and practical solutions
- Good communication skills and ability to liaise professionally with clients, contractors, field teams and internal stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate technical records and project documentation
- Ability to work full-time, 38–40 hours per week
- Current driver’s licence or ability to travel to project sites as required
Desirable
- Experience working with NBN, fibre optic networks, copper networks, telecommunications civil works, rod and rope, hauling, splicing, testing or integration projects
- ACMA registration, cabling licence, fibre endorsement, copper endorsement or testing endorsement
- White Card, working at heights, underground locating, asbestos awareness or other relevant industry tickets
- Experience using telecommunications design, mapping, survey or project management systems
- Experience working with telecommunications providers, infrastructure contractors, construction companies, data/security firms or asset management companies
