Modern Viking is looking for a reliable Casual Warehouse & Fulfilment Assistant to help pick, pack and dispatch customer orders during busy periods.
We are a growing Australian eCommerce brand selling Viking-inspired drinkware, gifts, jewellery and gear.
This is an as-needed casual position. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary depending on order volume, product launches and seasonal demand.
Not Your Typical Warehouse
We are a small, relaxed team and our warehouse does not feel like a traditional corporate workplace.
There is usually music playing, snacks in the fridge and a comfortable, easy-going atmosphere. When the work is under control and the warehouse is quiet, the ping-pong table may even come out.
We are friendly, informal and do not believe in unnecessary micromanagement.
That said, relaxed does not mean careless.
Customer orders must be accurate, products must be checked properly, deadlines must be met and the warehouse must stay clean and organised. We are looking for someone who can enjoy the environment while still taking pride in doing the job properly.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Picking and packing customer orders accurately
- Checking products for damage, defects or quality issues
- Preparing products and packaging for dispatch
- Printing and attaching shipping labels
- Using a computer for basic order fulfilment tasks
- Restocking shelves and organising inventory
- Assisting with deliveries and stock counts
- Keeping packing benches and warehouse areas clean and safe
- Helping prepare orders during busy launches and promotional periods
- Learning additional fulfilment or product-personalisation tasks after training
What We’re Looking For
You should be:
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
- Careful and attentive to small details
- Able to follow instructions and established processes
- Comfortable working independently after training
- Comfortable using a computer and learning new systems
- Physically capable of safely standing, packing and moving cartons
- Willing to help with cleaning, restocking and general warehouse organisation
- Able to travel reliably to and from Beresfield
- Comfortable working in a relaxed environment where quality standards remain high
Previous warehouse, pick-and-pack, retail stock, fulfilment or dispatch experience is helpful but not essential.
The right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are more important than having years of warehouse experience.
Hours
Flexible weekday daytime shifts may be available between approximately 7:00 am and 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
Applicants can provide their normal weekday availability.
Shifts will be offered and agreed in advance based on business demand. Shifts will generally be a minimum of four hours.
There may be busy weeks with several shifts and quieter weeks with no shifts.
This role is best suited to someone who wants flexible casual work and understands that weekly hours are not guaranteed.
Pay
Casual award rates plus superannuation.
Pay will be based on the applicable award, classification and legal requirements.
