About the role

The role of Administration Officer in the Andrew Love Cancer Centre is to provide confidential, high-quality administrative support to Cancer Services within Barwon Health while delivering excellent, professional, and compassionate customer service to patients, families, service providers, and the public in all interactions.

Key Responsibilities

Provide front-line reception services, welcoming visitors and directing them appropriately to support efficient patient flow and timely care
Manage appointments, patient registrations, admissions, and discharges across relevant hospital systems
Deliver professional telephone and customer service, responding to enquiries and coordinating communication with patients and referrers
Perform administrative tasks including reporting, medical record coordination, data updates, and general office duties
Support team operations through staff training, role rotation, leave coverage, and adherence to Barwon Health policies and mandatory training requirements

What we’re looking for

Previous experience in medical administration (highly desirable) with strong commitment to patient care and customer service
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to a variety of tasks and responsibilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
Strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workload and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with health information systems
