Our Geelng yard is seeking a practical, hands-on plant operator to contribute to load and unloading trucks, maintain smooth and safe daily operations, and assist customers with basic enquiries and service needs.

Reporting to the Yard Manager, you’ll safely operate machinery such as excavators, forklifts, loaders, and skid steers to sort, grade, and process metals.

Your responsibilities will include:

Load and unload trucks, skip bins, and trailers
Grade, sort, and manage metals to meet operational and quality standards
Maintain site compliance with environmental guidelines and OH&S policies
Deliver excellent service to internal and external customers
Operate plant equipment including material handlers, forklifts, loaders, and excavators (where licensed)

What we’re looking for:

- Experience operating forklift – Licence essential
- Experience operating excavator - Licence essential
- Loader, skid steer, or other plant tickets – advantageous
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Hands-on approach and willingness to be flexible
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and excellent attendance
- Positive, can-do attitude and openness to training to expand skills
