About us:

Stanbroke is a reputable family-owned and operated Australian cattle and beef business. Our operations span across Northern Queensland, with the extensive cattle properties, backgrounding operations in Southern Queensland, state-of-the-art cattle feedlots, a fully accredited beef processing facility and global marketing capabilities. We offer a full range of Grain and Grass-fed beef categories and export to over 40 countries globally.

What you'll be doing

Providing Level 2 technical support for hardware, software, network, and systems issues — acting as the escalation point from Level 1 and mentoring junior staff
Administering Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), and Windows/Linux server infrastructure
Managing virtualisation platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), backup and disaster recovery solutions, and routine patching across servers and endpoints
Supporting and maintaining LAN, WAN, and wireless infrastructure including firewalls, switches, routers, and VPN — monitoring performance and troubleshooting issues
Implementing endpoint security, monitoring security alerts, responding to incidents, and conducting regular audits of user access and system configurations
Participating in IT projects — infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and new technology rollouts — and maintaining accurate documentation throughout

What you'll bring

2–3 years of experience in IT support or systems administration, with solid hands-on skills across Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365
Working knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), virtualisation (VMware or Hyper-V), and backup and disaster recovery solutions
Sound understanding of networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls — and experience configuring routers and switches
Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail in documentation, and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
Clear communicator — comfortable translating technical information for non-technical stakeholders and working across a broader team
A diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience. Relevant certifications (AZ-104, CompTIA Network+/Security+, ITIL) are a bonus

Nice to have: experience with Azure or AWS, endpoint management tools (Intune/SCCM), Linux server administration, RMM tools, or scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
