We’re looking for an experienced Senior Advisor, Digital Communications and Experience to lead our digital strategy and channels, including our website, social media and e-newsletters. You’ll guide a small team, drive continuous improvement, and help ensure our digital experience is accessible, engaging and genuinely useful for our diverse community. This is a great role for someone who enjoys both strategy and delivery, values good user experience, and wants their work to make a real difference.

Permanent full-time role with real impact across the organisation
Shape and lead Council’s digital communications strategy and customer experience
Drive improvements to website, social media, e-news and digital content
Use data, insights and user experience to create more accessible, effective digital services
Lead and support a small, skilled digital team
Be part of a collaborative Communications and Engagement team doing meaningful work for the community
$129,850 per annum plus super (Band 8)

About the Role

The Senior Advisor, Digital Communications and Experience plays a key role in shaping how Council connects with the community across its digital channels, delivering accessible, engaging and user-focused online experiences. You’ll lead the development and delivery of Council’s digital communications strategy, overseeing channels including the website, social media, intranet and e-newsletters. This includes guiding a small team, improving user experience and accessibility, using data and insights to drive continuous improvement, and ensuring strong governance and consistency across Council’s digital presence. This is a role for someone who enjoys both strategy and delivery - a person who can think holistically about digital experience while also providing practical advice, support and solutions to teams across the organisation.

Skills & Experience

We’re looking for someone with:

Strong experience in digital communications, including websites, social media and e-newsletters
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver digital strategies and improve user experience
Experience using data, analytics and insights to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement
Strong content design and storytelling skills, with a focus on clear, engaging and accessible communication
Experience managing multiple projects and working with a wide range of stakeholders
An understanding of digital accessibility, governance and risk management
Knowledge of digital channel optimisation (e.g. SEO, structure, performance)
The ability to provide expert advice, training and support to others across an organisation
Experience leading or mentoring a team (desirable)
