Make a difference every day – help to manage and improve the infrastructure that supports our community every day
Are you a civil engineer with an interest in infrastructure asset management — or a recent graduate looking to build your career in local government? Banyule City Council is seeking an Assets & Infrastructure Engineer to help plan, manage and improve the infrastructure that supports our community every day. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience across the full asset lifecycle, working with roads, footpaths, drainage, buildings, open space and more.
About the Role
As part of Council’s Asset Management team, you will play a key role in collecting and analysing asset data, undertaking condition audits, and developing short‑ and long‑term renewal and capital works programs. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure Council’s infrastructure assets are well‑planned, well‑maintained and sustainable.
This role is well suited to a graduate engineer looking to develop practical asset management experience, or an experienced engineer wanting to grow their skills within a supportive local government environment.

- Respond to infrastructure‑related customer requests, including site inspections and recommendations
- Contribute to strategic asset planning documents and forward works programs
About you

- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
- Interest or experience in infrastructure asset management (local government experience desirable but not essential)
- Experience or exposure to condition assessments, asset registers or asset management systems
- Strong analytical, report‑writing and communication skills

- A commitment to quality customer service and continuous improvement

- Completed White Card training
We offer:
- Salary of $80,897.37 to $93,686.65 per annum plus super (dependent on experience).
