Primary objective
Provide high-level administrative and operational support to the Senior Executive Director and the Aboriginal Partnerships
and Reform unit staff to ensure the smooth operation of the business unit.

Context statement
The Aboriginal Partnerships and Reform division of the department of the Department of Chief Minister and Cabinet
provides whole of government coordination and implementation of the NT Government’s Aboriginal affairs agenda, including
the NT Government Aboriginal Affairs Framework 2026-2028 and the First Circles Aboriginal Leadership Program. The
Aboriginal Partnerships and Reform unit works closely with other government agencies, regionally and with a range of
external stakeholders at a local, regional, Territory and National level.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide confidential executive support to the Executive Director including managing the flow of communication,

organising travel and calendar management.
2. Support the Senior Executive Director and business unit staff in maintaining a high level of quality control and timeliness

with respect to stakeholder correspondence.
3. Ensure meeting papers, including those for representative committees, are assembled and distributed within the

appropriate timeframe.
4. Manage the administration of the work unit efficiently to ensure timely responses and ensure systems and processes

are functioning appropriately.
5. Provide administrative support services within the Darwin Office, along with supporting staff located in other regional

offices.
6. Manage a range of functions including travel arrangements, purchasing, liaising with suppliers, organising payment and

processing credit card transactions.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven experience in working effectively in an executive support role or equivalent experience in a role requiring

confidentiality, initiative, integrity and sound judgement.
2. High level of motivation with demonstrated sound organisational, administrative and problem-solving skills, including

proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
3. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically, including the ability to prepare correspondence in

plain English.
4. High level of computer literacy including across the various standard office software packages.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to high personal work standards and delivery of client focussed services

to internal and external clients and stakeholders.
6. An ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.

Desirable
1. Proficient in SharePoint and Content Manager System or similar.
2. Knowledge of the principles of Equity and Diversity and Occupational Health and Safety.
