Primary objective
Provide high level administrative support for the Community Allied Health Team (CAHT) Team to support work unit service delivery.
The administrative officer will work collaboratively with staff, consumers and community stakeholders to provide a range of
administrative duties that support work unit activities, with a focus on activities that support remote travel planning and booking.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide professional and efficient front line service for clients, queries from the public and all stakeholders of the work unit to ensure

effective client service, administrative, reception and technical support.
2. Be responsible for general office administration, including assistance in the ordering and purchasing of supplies, clinic related

bookings, managing the small fleet of cars, filing and client related tasks.
3. Complete tasks at the direction of the work unit manager and experienced staff. Gather relevant information in interactions with

clients and ensure accurate data and information is entered in a timely manner.
4. Provide high quality information management support services to the work unit to ensure effective data entry into patient care

information systems.
5. Provide secretarial and administrative support for the processing newly received referrals, ensuring client records are updated and

accurate.
6. Follow defined service quality standards, Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures relating to the work being

undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
7. Integral member of multi-disciplinary team focussed on continuation of services and patient centred care.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to provide administrative support related to work unit practices and processes, including making appointments,

timely entry of information into electronic and hard copy client records, data entry and filing.
2. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, including an understanding of privacy principles and proven ability

to maintain strict confidentiality.
3. Demonstrated high level of computer literacy, with the ability to use a range of office equipment, technology, computer applications

and information systems, in particular client information systems and spreadsheets.
4. Strong time management and organisational skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work with

minimal supervision to deliver timely and effective client services.
5. High level ability to work in a team environment and multi-disciplinary setting, working effectively with colleagues, clients and external

agencies.
6. Demonstrated knowledge and application of policies such as Work Health and Safety, Confidentiality, Code of Conduct and the

requirement to maintain confidentiality with a high level of awareness of politically sensitive issues.
7. Understanding of privacy principles, proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and the ability to interact effectively with people

from diverse cultures, particularly in dealing in sensitive matters.

Desirable
1. Experience working in an allied health or aged care setting
