About the role
As an Internal Fraud Analyst, you’ll use business data, fraud detection systems and digital evidence to identify internal fraud, non-compliant behaviour, and emerging loss trends across Coles. You’ll connect transactions, CCTV, access control data, witness statements and other information to build clear case narratives and support intelligence-led investigations. Working with investigators, technology teams and operational partners, you’ll help strengthen fraud detection capability and deliver practical insights that reduce loss.
You will also:

Analyse structured and unstructured data to identify suspicious behaviour, transaction anomalies, fraud patterns and actionable leads.

Monitor and improve fraud detection systems in partnership with technology teams, including the development of new data and behavioural indicators.

Maintain business reporting that identifies potential loss of cash, products, time, loyalty or profitability.

Review CCTV and digital evidence to validate incidents, establish timelines and strengthen evidentiary quality.

Support investigators with intelligence development, brief preparation, surveillance activity and case reviews.

Present significant fraud risks and trends clearly to operational, investigative and senior stakeholders.
About you and your skills
You’re highly analytical, curious and comfortable working with sensitive, incomplete or conflicting information. You combine strong technical capability with sound judgement, clear communication and a disciplined approach to evidence integrity, privacy and confidentiality.
You will have:

Experience in intelligence analysis, fraud detection, investigations, loss prevention, risk analysis or a related analytical role.

Strong capability working with multiple data sources to identify patterns, anomalies, linkages and investigative leads.

Experience supporting investigations through evidence collation, timeline development, offender profiling or case management.

Confidence using analytics tools, dashboards, fraud detection systems, AI-enabled platforms or digital evidence repositories.

Strong critical thinking and communication skills, with relevant study in fraud, intelligence, criminology, analytics, data science, investigations or policing considered advantageous.
