About the role
As an Organised Retail Crime (ORC) Analyst, you’ll turn crime, risk and safety data into practical intelligence that helps reduce loss and improve safety across Coles. You’ll connect incidents, transactions, CCTV, witness statements and other digital evidence to identify offender behaviour, organised retail crime patterns, and actionable investigative leads. Working closely with operational teams, investigators, law enforcement, and external partners, you’ll produce clear intelligence products that support timely decisions and stronger case outcomes.
You will also:

Analyse incident, safety, CCTV, Auror and operational data to identify repeat offenders.

Analyse structured and unstructured data to identify trends, linked incidents and emerging loss risks.

Build offender, incident and network profiles to support suspect identification, linkage analysis and investigation planning.

Review CCTV and digital evidence to confirm timelines, methods of operation and evidentiary quality.

Prepare investigation packs, case summaries, evidentiary chronologies, hotspot maps, dashboards and intelligence briefings.

Use analytics platforms, AI-enabled tools and pattern recognition systems to triage alerts and surface investigative leads.

Partner with store operations, loss prevention, fraud, legal, safety, police and other stakeholders to progress investigations appropriately.
About you and your skills
You’re analytical, curious and highly detail-oriented, with the persistence to work through sensitive, incomplete or conflicting information. You can turn complex findings into clear, practical insights while maintaining strong standards of evidence integrity, confidentiality and professional judgement.
You will have:

Experience in intelligence analysis, crime analysis, investigations, loss prevention, risk analysis or a related analytical role.

Strong capability working with multiple data sources to identify patterns, anomalies, linkages and actionable intelligence.

Experience supporting investigations through evidence collation, timeline development, offender profiling or case management.

Confidence using analytics tools, dashboards, case management systems, AI-enabled platforms or digital evidence repositories.

Strong written, visualisation and presentation skills, with relevant study in intelligence, criminology, analytics, data science, investigations or policing considered advantageous
