HelloDR Esk is the local medical centre at 98 Ipswich Street, Esk, right in the heart of the Somerset region. We're the trusted health hub for Esk and the surrounding rural communities, offering GP consultations, bulk billing (eligibility criteria may apply), DAME (Designated Aviation Medical Examiner) services, travel vaccinations, skin cancer checks and onsite audiology through our local hearing clinic.
We're a growing, community-focused, small-town clinic with genuine reach - the kind of place where staff know their patients by name. With a strong emphasis on patient-centered care, our team of healthcare professionals works collaboratively to create a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
The HelloDR Esk operates during the following hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: Closed
- Sunday: Closed
The Role
At HelloDR Esk, our Enrolled Nurses are more than support staff they're a familiar, trusted face for patients and an essential part of delivering compassionate, community-focused healthcare. In our close-knit rural clinic, you'll work under the supervision of our Registered Nurses and GPs, providing hands-on clinical care while building genuine relationships with patients who value continuity and personalised support.
Every day brings variety, from assisting with chronic disease management, immunisation clinics, and health assessments to supporting minor procedures, wound care, and preventive healthcare initiatives. You'll collaborate closely with our GPs and allied health professionals to deliver safe, high-quality care, ensuring every patient receives the attention, respect, and support they deserve. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborating with general practitioners and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Support patient preparation and monitoring before and after minor procedures
- Take vital signs, update patient records and assist with chronic disease reviews
- Help maintain stock, equipment sterilisation and cold chain compliance
- Provide a warm, reassuring presence for patients across all ages
- Administering medications and treatments in line with best practice guidelines.
- Supporting patient education and ensuring they have access to relevant health resources.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records while adhering to strict confidentiality standards.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse
- Certificate IV or Diploma of Nursing
- Proven experience in a clinical setting, preferably within general practice or community health.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in using medical software and technology (e.g., Best Practice).
- A commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development.
