About the Role
Reporting to the Despatch & Logistics Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all despatch operations including stock preparation, cleaning, labelling, pricing, packing and dispatch of products across multiple customer channels. Leading a team of up to 4 Team Leaders and 20 Nursery Hands in our busy periods, you’ll ensure daily operations run safely, efficiently and on schedule while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead, coach and develop high-performing despatch team.
- Coordinate daily despatch operations to meet customer delivery deadlines.
- Plan labour resources and prepare weekly rosters.
- Conduct performance reviews, probation meetings and ongoing coaching.
- Ensure products are packed, labelled and presented to the highest standards.
- Work closely with Sales, Production and Transport teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Manage stock quality, minimise waste and maintain accurate reporting.
- Champion workplace safety and lead toolbox meetings.
- Drive a positive team culture built on accountability, communication and collaboration.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be an experienced operations leader who enjoys motivating teams and delivering results. Ideally you’ll have:
- Experience leading teams in a warehouse, production, manufacturing or nursery environment.
- Strong planning, organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A strong focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of plants or horticulture (highly regarded).
- Certificate IV in Horticulture (desirable but not essential).
