Nursing Support Roster - Permanent and Temporary
Our Nursing Support Roster is the hospital’s agile clinical response team stepping in to maintain safe, high-quality care during periods of leave, surge or workforce pressure.
As part of NSR, you will:
Short Stay Overflow - Temporary
3F is an exciting new 20‑bed short‑stay overflow ward, launched as part of our proactive winter strategy to support patient flow and ensure timely, high‑quality care during periods of increased demand. This dynamic high turnover unit has been designed to provide efficient, patient‑centred care for short‑stay, uncomplicated surgical patients, as well as for those who are nearing completion of their care journey and have a planned discharge within the next 24–72 hours.
By focusing on streamlined care and clear discharge planning, 3F plays a vital role in improving hospital flow, reducing access block, and enhancing the overall patient experience. The ward operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ensuring consistent access to care and flexibility to respond to changing service needs.
You will be supported by a Nursing Unit Manager 0700- 1530 Monday to Friday and a Clinical Nurse Educator 0700-2230 Monday to Friday and 1400-2230 Saturday and Sunday.
3F represents a collaborative, forward‑thinking approach—supporting our patients to transition safely and confidently home, while strengthening capacity across the hospital during the busy winter period.
Medical Assessment Unit: Temporary
A dynamic and innovative medical assessment unit delivering rapid, senior‑led multidisciplinary care, supported by a collaborative team culture that values learning, professional development, and high‑quality patient outcomes within a short‑stay model.
Perioperative: Temporary
Exciting opportunity for suitably qualified anaesthetic nurse to work in a dynamic team at Wyong theatre.
Acute Geriatrics & Rehabilitation: Temporary and Permanent
Holistic, dignity-focused care for older adults through acute illness and recovery. Suits resilient, calm clinicians who value meaningful patient relationships and multidisciplinary teamwork.
General Medicine & Coronary Care: Temporary
Build acute capability in cardiac monitoring, medical assessment and clinical escalation within a supportive, education-focused team.
Neurology & Stroke: Temporary
Care for patients with stroke, seizures and brain injury, supported by strong multidisciplinary teams and structured learning pathways.
About You:
Current AHPRA registration
Current working rights in Australia (no visa sponsorship available)
At least 12 months acute clinical experience in Australia
Strong clinical judgement and escalation capability
Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
A collaborative, professional approach
You are adaptable, accountable and confident in your clinical practice.
