Piano Teacher

Location: Lidcombe, Sydney
Rate: $60 per hour
Viva Music Academy is an established music school located in Lidcombe, Sydney across piano, strings, voice and theory. Our students range from young beginners aged 3 and above through to advanced students preparing for examinations, eisteddfods, scholarships, auditions and performance opportunities.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional Piano Teacher to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about music education, enjoys working with students of all ages, and is looking to build a long-term teaching career within a supportive and well-organised studio environment.
We are particularly seeking teachers who are available for weekday afternoons and weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday)
About the Role
- Teach one-on-one piano lessons to students ranging from preschool-aged beginners (3–5 years old) through to advanced students and adults
- Prepare students for AMEB and ABRSM examinations
- Support students preparing for concerts, eisteddfods, scholarships and auditions
- Create engaging, structured and encouraging lessons tailored to each student
- Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with parents
- Assist with studio concerts and special events throughout the year
- Capture and submit a short lesson video (15–30 seconds) each week to support Viva Music Academy's student progress updates and social media content
What We're Looking For
- Professional, reliable and well-presented
- Organised and punctual, with excellent time management
- Experience teaching piano to children, teenagers and adults
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience teaching young beginners, including preschool-aged students (3–5 years old), is highly regarded
- Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate lessons for young children while maintaining clear learning goals
- Experience preparing students for AMEB/ABRSM examinations, eisteddfods, music scholarships and competitions is highly regarded
- AMEB or ABRSM teaching experience
- Minimum AMusA qualification (LMusA highly regarded)
- Bachelor of Music or equivalent qualification (completed or currently studying)
- Comfortable using basic technology to record short lesson videos and communicate with the studio team
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Additional instruments such as Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar or Voice are highly regarded
