South Western Sydney’s Mental Health Service is recruiting to an established Senior Dietitian position. This position will be based at Campbelltown Hospital Mental Health Service and provides medical nutrition therapy to inpatient mental health consumers, as part of the broader Physical Health Service. The Physical Health Service provides clinical management of comorbid physical conditions for mental health consumers, while also supporting improvements in physical healthcare delivery across the Mental Health Service. The Mental Health Senior Dietitian based at Campbelltown Hospital supports eight Mental Health Units, which includes speciality units of a Older Persons Mental Health Unit and the Adolescent Mental Health Unit. It plays a significant role in supporting improved nutrition care for individuals with mental illness within multidisciplinary teams. This position is well supported by both the Campbelltown Dietetics Department and the broader Mental Health Service, with regular clinical supervision provided alongside ongoing opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD) and training. Opportunities for service development and student supervision are also available.

Are You the Right Fit?
Ideal candidate will:

Hold a tertiary qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics with eligibility for APD status with Dietitians Australia
Demonstrates advanced clinical knowledge, skill and practice in the provision of medical nutrition therapy, and has experience providing clinical care to individuals living with mental illness.
Demonstrates clinical leadership to support nutrition care initiatives for vulnerable individuals in inpatient settings.
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to ensure nutrition care is optimised for consumers.
Demonstrated ability to work both within a multidisciplinary team, and independently across caseloads, with the ability to support staff with nutrition care outcomes.

Post graduate qualification or Bachelor in Nutrition and Dietetics as recognized by the Dietitians Association of Australia.
Can you describe a time when you managed a complex mental health case load, including how you applied your advanced clinical knowledge, collaborated with carers or external providers, and ensured evidence-based care?
Tell us about an initiative you have contributed to that improved service quality or clinical practice, including how you worked independently or within a multidisciplinary team, supervised staff or students, and used communication or systems such as CBORD to support the outcome.
