Being a member of the Work Health & Safety (WHS) Team, you will have outstanding thinking skills, balanced with an ability to deliver innovative solutions for the business. This role will have influence and responsibility for providing accurate and timely advice to stakeholders and senior management that is both inventive and pragmatic.

About the role:

As a member of the Corporate Services & Governance section at Campbelltown City Council and the WHS team, you will be working with a high performing team that is tasked with implementing Council’s WHS Strategy, including leading and working on exciting WHS related projects.

In this role you will;

1. Adhere to requirements contained in relevant legislation, standards, and codes of practice when undertaking tasks/activities and to advise their Supervisor/Coordinator if they become aware of any changes to these.

2. Assist the Risk Management Coordinator and Work Health & Safety Specialist with the implementation of Council’s Organisational Safety Improvement Plan (OSIP)

3. Support the delivery of Council’s Organisational Safety Improvement Plan (OSIP) over a three-year period

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

Demonstrated experience in project administration, coordination or project delivery.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in reporting and monitoring project progress.
Well-developed computer skills and experience with corporate enterprise systems.
High level interpersonal skills, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate with a wide range of workers, with a demonstrated commitment to the provision of exceptional customer service.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently.

Current Class C Drivers licence.

Desirable Criteria:

Qualifications in Work Health and Safety, Project Management, or a related discipline
Knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, and contemporary safety practices.

Experience working within local government or a large complex organisation
Understanding of change management principles as applied to WHS initiatives.
Experience implementing cultural or behavioural safety programs
