Full Job Description

We're excited to welcome a Clinical Nurse to our Department of Emergency Medicine at Nambour.

The Clinical Nurse's role is to lead and deliver person centred nursing care at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards for Practice. The Clinical Nurse is expected to be able to practice autonomously and provide leadership in clinical decision making. The Clinical Nurse will have a minimum of 5 years emergency nursing experience and be expected to perform the role of Team Leader which involves coordinating staff, liaising with medical and other staff members, problem solving, conflict resolution, acting as the point of contact for the shift, ensuring patient safety and staff safety and allocating staff and skill mix.

Key Responsibilities include:
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) - State 2015 - Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 6, Band 1 and the Queensland Public Service values.
Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
Accountable for NMBA and own standards, actions and the outcomes of own nursing/midwifery practice, professional advice given and for activities delegated to a registered nurse/registered midwife, enrolled nurse or unregulated healthcare worker.

Salary rates $57.48 - $61.55 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 6 (1)) (Part time positions available, minimum 40-48 hrs p.f.). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
