Full Job Description

Based in the Channon, NSW

Role Purpose

NSW Operations Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day factory production and farm operations in NSW to achieve production, yield, quality, safety, and cost targets. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role oversees production, planting, harvesting, maintenance, and site teams while driving operational efficiency, compliance, continuous improvement, and a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

Manage day-to-day production and farm operations to achieve production, yield, quality, safety, and cost targets.
Coordinate planting, harvesting, processing, maintenance, labour, equipment, and operational resources.
Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives across farm and production activities.
Monitor operational performance and provide regular updates to management.

Yield, Quality & Compliance

Monitor tree and plant health, irrigation, soil, nutrition, and pest management programs.
Ensure product quality, food safety, and operational standards are maintained.
Collaborate with Quality and Operations teams to support compliance, audits, and continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate operational, production, and compliance records.
Ensure facilities, equipment, and work environments are maintained safely and effectively.

Leadership & Safety

Lead, mentor, and develop production and farm teams, including seasonal staff.
Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and workforce development.
Promote a positive, safe, and high-performing workplace culture.
Ensure compliance with WHS, food safety, and company policies and procedures.

Resource & Stakeholder Management

Manage site budgets, inventory, equipment maintenance, and operational resources.
Monitor labour efficiency and operational costs against targets and budgets.
Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and service providers to support operational outcomes.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in production, farm, or site management within agriculture, horticulture, or food manufacturing.
Strong leadership and workforce management skills with a focus on safety, wellbeing, and performance.
Knowledge of agronomy, irrigation, soil, and plant health management.
Understanding of food safety, quality assurance, and WHS compliance standards.
Strong organisational, planning, budgeting, and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Achievement of production, harvest, yield, and quality targets.
Compliance with WHS, food safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Labour efficiency, operational costs, and resource utilisation against budget.
Team performance, engagement, and workforce retention.
Adherence to production and harvest schedules.

Pay: $100,000.00 per year
