About the Role
We're expanding our team and seeking experienced demolition workers to handle a steady pipeline of residential and light commercial demolition projects. You'll work hands-on with our crew to safely demolish, dismantle, and remove existing structures, fences, walls, concrete, and other elements to prepare sites for new concreting, fencing, retaining walls, and landscaping. This is outdoor, physical work with reliable ongoing opportunities for skilled, dependable tradies who prioritise safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting site assessments and identifying safe demolition methods for structures, fences, retaining walls, and materials (e.g., brick, timber, concrete, steel)
- Manually dismantling and demolishing elements using hand tools, power tools, and small plant equipment
- Removing existing fences, gates, retaining walls, concrete slabs, driveways, and other site features as required
- Operating tools and machinery safely (e.g., jackhammers, excavators, bobcats, grinders, saws) for breaking, cutting, and removal
- Sorting, loading, and removing debris, waste, and salvageable materials for recycling or disposal
- Erecting and dismantling temporary structures like scaffolding, barriers, or exclusion zones
- Site preparation, including marking out areas, excavation for access, dust suppression, and levelling post-demolition
- Identifying and handling hazardous materials (with appropriate controls), ensuring compliance with council regulations, WHS standards, and asbestos protocols
- Maintaining tools/equipment and adhering strictly to safe work practices, including PPE usage and risk assessments
What We're Looking For
- Proven hands-on experience in demolition, deconstruction, or site stripping (minimum 2–3+ years preferred)
- Strong skills in safe dismantling of various structures and materials (timber, concrete, brick, steel, fencing, retaining walls)
- Ability to read plans, assess structures, and work accurately to specifications
- Physically fit for manual labour, heavy lifting, tool operation, and outdoor conditions (including dust, noise, and weather)
- Reliable, hardworking with a positive team attitude, attention to detail, and commitment to safety/quality
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) – mandatory
- Own reliable transport to job sites around Adelaide (essential)
- Own basic hand/power tools (e.g., sledgehammer, crowbar, grinder, saw – highly regarded)
- Current driver's licence preferred
- Experience with machinery (e.g., mini excavator, bobcat, jackhammer) advantageous but not required
- Knowledge of asbestos awareness or willingness to undertake relevant training highly regarded
