Your Opportunity
As the Educational Operations Manager you will:
Oversee the day-to-day operational support functions at the Bundaberg campus, supporting key components of the student lifecycle, from pre-admission to graduation and beyond and mobilising the workforce to deliver efficient, quality and timely outcomes.
This position reports to the Faculty Director.
This is a temporary, full-time opportunity to 28 May 2027 unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily in Bundaberg, however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
In partnership with the Executive Director Education and Training and peer managers, embed the delivery of educational operational services into the business maximising resource utilisation, maintaining compliance and mitigating risk.
Lead and manage high performing teams aligned to educational operational activities. Manage team resourcing including emergent staffing needs, rostering, leave, overtime, recruitment and performance planning, and actively manage under performance.
Lead and manage a range of critical business activities, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, appropriately identifying and delegating responsibilities to ensure organisational priorities are met.
Provide high quality advice to the Executive Director Education and Training and other managers in the business on the operational effectiveness of administrative plans, policy, procedures, compliance and systems. Investigate and resolve complaints relevant to student administration.
Foster a culture of quality, efficiency and continuous improvement, mentor and coach others in new business processes to implement integrated, centralised and efficient educational administrative workflows that provide a seamless experience for students and clients.
Embed systems and processes for the effective utilisation of technology to record, analyse and monitor student management activities and contractual obligations ensuring a high degree of accuracy and critical deadlines are met.
Report on the efficiency and effectiveness of financial and non-financial performance targets including operational and project budgets.
Champion collaborative working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to provide relevant and high-quality educational administration and support services and intervention strategies, resolve operational issues and maximise student and revenue outcomes.
Maintain knowledge of the Region, its services, products and policies and utilise this knowledge to make informed, consistent decisions that support business initiatives.
Manage or contribute to ad hoc projects and actively participate in appropriate networks, forums, professional development and student/client engagement/marketing activities to support the strategic direction of TAFE Queensland.
Live a safety culture, lead by example and support Workplace Health and Safety in the workplace to maintain industry partnerships and models for student engagement and advance the standing and reputation of the organisation.
Actively engage with industry, business and the community.
Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Showing Initiative, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer and Taking Responsibility

There are no mandatory requirements for this position.
Highly Desirable Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in vocational education, business, human resources or leaderhip and management, or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience in managing large, diverse teams.
