- Blended role (Leadership + Direct Support)
- Directly engaged by the family
- Brisbane South, Logan West
Leadership in real time - Not from an office - Not from a distance.
This role works alongside the team—holding the space between people, expectations, and outcomes, and turning that into consistent, high-quality support.
Mitchell’s Crew is a carefully built support environment around one man, focused on helping him live a life that feels meaningful and his own.
We’re building a team that is consistent, accountable, and aligned—and we’re looking for a Practice Lead to take ownership of the standard and lead from the front.
Are you who we are looking for?
- You bring the maturity and judgement to lead in a real-world environment
- You can hold standards while guiding and supporting others
- You stay steady when things aren’t always clear
- You communicate clearly, directly and honestly
- You take ownership and follow things through
- You show up with reliability and consistency
- You use feedback, reflection and learning to improve outcomes
- You’re calm, practical, and solution-focused
- You understand behaviour as communication—for both Mitchell and the team
- You’re professional, accountable and genuinely care
What you’re stepping into
- A small, committed team
- A highly individualised support environment
- A role blending leadership + hands-on support
You’ll be working in the shifts, building real understanding, modelling standards and leading through action on the ground.
Hours & shifts
This role is anticipated to offer up to 25 hours per week (maximum of 50 hours per fortnight, across 48 weeks of the year).
Flexibility is essential. This role requires a mix of weekday, evening, overnight and weekend shifts. This will include an initial induction/training period with buddy shifts, followed by regular solo rostered support shifts (9am–5pm and/or 5pm–9am) approximately 2–3 times per fortnight to maintain direct understanding of the environment and support being delivered.
The remaining hours will be made up of your on-site presence for leadership and supervision through drop-in visits across other shifts, along with some non-contact leadership and coordination hours as required.
What you’ll be accountable for
- Quality and consistency of support
- Team capability, confidence and development
- Translating plans into real-world practice
- Clear, respectful communication with family & stakeholders
- Bringing structure while maintaining a flexible and responsive environment
How we work
- Open, direct communication (even when it’s hard)
- Ownership and follow-through
- Reliability and consistency
- Feedback, reflection and continuous improvement
Requirements
- 3+ years in disability (with leadership or strong mentoring)
- NDIS Worker Screening / Police Check
- First Aid & CPR
- Driver’s licence + reliable vehicle
- Availability across varied shifts (incl. weekends/sleepovers)
What you’ll get
- A role where your leadership actually matters
- A team that values honesty over comfort
- The opportunity to shape how support is delivered
- Work with real, daily impact
This role isn’t for someone looking for “just a job” – it’s for someone who:
- takes pride in the impact they have every day.
- takes ownership of the standard and the outcomes that come with it.
- genuinely cares about how their work shapes someone else’s life.
- holds themselves - and others - to a high standard.
- wants to show up, be present and make a real difference.
If this feels like the kind of role you’ve been looking for, we’d genuinely value the opportunity to hear from you.
