To meet our growing demands, we are looking for a Data & Information Governance Lead to join our team.
The Role: Reporting to the ICT Strategy, Architecture & Business Partner Manager, the purpose of the role is to act on Data & Information risks and opportunities for better decisions and business process automation. Drive the evolution of Arrow's Information Management (IM) Strategy, Enterprise Information Architecture and Data & Information Governance (DIG) framework, ensuring Data & Information assets are governed, fit-for-use, and enabling safe, compliant, productive work, asset growth and operations.
This is a Brisbane-based position and will require occasional travel to our field operations as required, with plenty of notice.
In addition, you will:
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to consistently role model Arrow’s values, code of conduct, safety and the environment.
- Establish positive and productive working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Model inclusive behaviours to create a safe environment where different views and perspectives are encouraged and valued.
- Drive the implementation of Arrow’s IM strategy, standards, guidelines, procedures and practices, including the DIG framework and the AI adoption plan through training and facilitation of the DIG and AI Communities of Practice (Data Stewards & AI Early Adopters).
- Maintain and evolve Arrow's Enterprise Information Model & Architecture, including Data Domains, key entities, and relationships, governing Business Glossary, Taxonomy and Classification Structures, Metadata Standards and Naming Conventions, resolving semantic conflicts across domains, establishing “canonical definitions” to enable cross-domain integration and reporting, eliminating rework and enabling business process automation (including AI solutions).
- Partner with and support the Data Owners and Data Stewards to translate the DIG framework into practical operating artefacts (Standards, Templates, Domain onboarding packs, Decisions' Rights and Workflows including RACI's), embed governance practices into daily work, align and deliver upon priorities across Data Domains.
- Partner with the Data Stewards, Data Platform Architect and Specialists to define, maintain and evolve Data Quality (DQ) concepts, DQ rules and measurement, ensure metadata supports DQ monitoring, Data Lineage/Traceability, identify and address non-conformance and opportunities to reduce duplication, improve consistency and simplify information landscape.
- Manage the Document Control Service, manage the Corporate Information Management Coordinator, and support the Asset Information Coordinator, to ensure the Data & Information Governance practices enable and reflect the organisation's requirements and obligations: Information Lifecycle, Security, Access, Classification, and Compliance, and align records management practices with the Enterprise Classification and the DIG framework.
About You
You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to contribute to a high performing-team with a second-to-none focus on safety and integrity.
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- Qualifications: Relevant university degree
- Extensive knowledge of the Information Management domain, solid understanding of the typical End-to-End Data and Information lifecycle for Corporate Information, Field Development Planning, Projects/Construction and, Operations including Project-to-Asset (P2A) process
- 8 years+ experience in Data & Information Governance and Enterprise Information Architecture
- Business glossary, taxonomy, data semantics and metadata design
- Ability to translate business ambiguity into structured models
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in federated governance models
- Deep knowledge of IM systems i.e. Master Data Management (MDM), Business Glossary & Data Catalogue, Engineering Data Warehouse, Document Control and Management Systems (DCMS), Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), Records Management Systems etc., as well as of associated reporting software.
- Desirable
- Exposure to Coal Seam Gas or Oil & Gas industry, Energy, Resources & Utilities sector, and/or capital intensive, asset-heavy, regulated environments (where data quality impacts safety or compliance)
- Understanding of records / information management principles, data lifecycle and retention concepts
- Experience with Corporate & Operational Information Systems, SharePoint and AI adoption
