Lead and inspire excellence in women's health education
Shape future midwives through education and mentoring

Build capability, mentor future midwives and lead innovative clinical education that strengthens women's health services and improves patient outcomes.

Position Classification: Clinical Midwife Educator
Remuneration: $60.84 - $62.82 per hour
Hours Per Week: 22
Location: Blacktown Hospital

Join the dedicated Women's Health Clinics team at Blacktown Hospital, where education, collaboration and compassionate care are at the heart of everything we do. As a Clinical Midwife Educator, you will work alongside experienced clinicians and leaders to empower midwives, support lifelong learning and contribute to outstanding outcomes for women and families. This is an exciting opportunity to influence clinical practice while helping shape the future midwifery workforce.

Work within a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Deliver education that promotes evidence based, patient centred care.
Partner with clinical leaders to strengthen workforce capability.
Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, innovation and excellence.
Coordinate and deliver Parent Education services for the community.

Essential Criteria

Registrations: Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA

Selection Criteria

Training &Assessment(TAA) qualification or Certificate IV in Workplace Training or relevant post graduate tertiary studies in education or willingness to attain same

Parent/Childbirth education qualification or willingness to attain the same

Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward/unit/clinic level.

Extensive recent clinical midwifery experience in Antenatal Care, with a sound knowledge of contemporary midwifery practice.

Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching, utilising adult learning principles.

Demonstrated effective and high level communication and organisational skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills, in addition to proven ability to motivate and engage staff in a clinical setting.

Strong commitment to the on-going development and enhancement of midwifery practice within a women centred, multi-disciplinary clinical environment.
