About the opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Clerical Officer to join our Development Assessment team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, proactive and skilled team member to support the Portal and Gateway Administration Team. In this role, you will play a key part in the day-to-day operations of Council's Development Services Section by:

Processing applications lodged through the NSW Planning Portal
Providing administrative support to Development Assessment and Development Services staff
Delivering high-quality customer service to residents, applicants, consultants and other stakeholders
Assisting customers with enquiries relating to planning and development processes
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and legislative requirements
Providing advice and support to internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive customer outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative and organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, a commitment to customer service and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

A minimum of 12 months’ work experience in a similar role
Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
Computer literate
Demonstrated commitment to customer service
Ability to work within a team environment
Availability to work flexible working hours
Current class C driver’s licence.

Desirable:

Relevant office experience and good keyboard skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Ability to deal efficiently with multiple tasks
Data entry experience, high volume.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

Entry level for this position starts at $1,315.70 per week
35-hour working week
Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
