About the role

Intensive Care Services at Eastern health includes 50 physical bed spaces to provide care to 21 intensive care equivalent patients. The service provides a mixture of intensive care and high dependency level care. Intensive care and high dependency are not segregated.

Each ICU provides high level care to patients within a multidisciplinary teaching hospital environment. Much of this care includes support for patients with severe illnesses, complex surgical recovery, and need for complex procedures, artificial ventilation and other forms of life support. The service is led by Intensive Care Consultant Intensivists, and staffed by Critical-Care trained Nursing staff, Allied Health staff and training Medical staff.

About you

As a Critical Care Registered Nurse, your skills and experience will include:

Current registration with AHPRA (essential)
Recent critical care nursing experience within Australia
Post graduate qualification in critical care (essential)
An empathetic and personable demeanour
A strong commitment to high quality care
The ability to work as part of a diverse team
Excellent communication and organisational skills

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
